Job Description: Role: Post Immunization Monitor
Description of role:
This role is responsible for:
- Monitoring clients post-immunization to ensure they are stable and are able to leave the facility
- Treating side effects appropriately if some should appear
- Triaging to assigned areas should effects become serious
- Escalating calls to 911 should transport to hospital become necessary
Minimum competencies:
KNOWLEDGE:
- Vaccine Administration procedure
- COVID-19 Vaccine Brand-specific learning
- Anaphylaxis learning module or current certification
- Knowledge of how Immunization Clinics work
- Knowledge of various vaccines and potential side effects
- Knowledge of treatment modalities available
- Knowledge of how Immunization Clinics work
- Current BLS certification
SKILLS:
- Excellent assessment and communication skills
- Knowledge of various vaccines and potential side effects
- Knowledge of treatment modalities available
- Ability to follow work standards, algorithms and scripts
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize workload constantly
- Aware and displays empathy to stigmatized and vulnerable populations
JUDGEMENT:
- Adheres to SHA privacy and confidentiality principles
- Escalates issues to the clinical lead based on work standards and algorithms
