Description

Safety Advisor
The Safety Association of Saskatchewan Manufacturers (SASM) is a non-profit corporation providing safety training, advice and occupational hygiene training and services to organizations in Saskatchewan. SASM is currently accepting resumes for a Safety Advisor to fill a 1-year term position (including a 3-month probation) in our Saskatoon office. While SASM appreciates all applications that we receive, only candidates under consideration will be contacted.

Skills and Qualifications:
2 or more years experience in a health and safety capacity, in a manufacturing or multi- industry environment;
Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and/or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) is considered an asset;
Experience using and/or training powered mobile equipment;
Knowledge of OH&S legislation;
Training skills and experience;
Motivated with the ability to work independently while also being an integral part of a team;
Able to travel overnight, if necessary;
Strong interpersonal, time management and communication skills;
Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities:
Assist companies to understand and apply the principles of safety management;

Assist with the development of powered mobile equipment training development;

Perform advisory duties such as on-site inspections, job hazard analysis and noise level testing;

Reports to the Executive Director of SASM.
