We are seeking an innovative nursing manager who will lead the Nursing Services team towards excellence in primary care, primary prevention and chronic disease management. The Nursing Services team provides clinical nursing services, clinical office assistant services, reception services, foot care, immunization, and supports and delivers program activities of health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management within an interdisciplinary team-based, patient and family-centred approach to care. The Director of Nursing leads, manages and supervises the team in the provision of high quality clinical services.
The Director will:
Lead team members to work to their full scope of practice within a supported environment of continuous quality improvement; and
Using proven evidence-based methodologies, advance the role of team members within the organization through collaborative practice; and
Efficiently schedule personnel to effectively support the interdisciplinary team and to meet the clinical demands of clients; and
Work collaboratively with other staff and with Directors as a part of the management team.
Qualifications required include:
Degree from an accredited university or college in Registered Nursing (Masters preferred) and current or eligible registration as a Registered Nurse in Saskatchewan.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
Sound nursing knowledge in primary care and in nursing administration.
Competent understanding of current trends and concepts relative to professional nursing.
Ability to lead and work with an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
Experience with electronic medical records is an asset.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
