DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide transportation for children in care including relocation/placement in foster homes, physician visits.
Supervise children while parents meet with family service workers.
Arrange and supervise parental and/or family visitations as directed by family service workers (monitor visitation time and make decisions to terminate visit if necessary, provide immediate oral reports of visitation followed up with written reports).
Assist staff in site visitation and removal of children into protective custody which may require physical removal by lifting and carrying children.
Routinely check in on clients receiving in home services to make reports to family service workers on observations.
Provide routine clerical support to family services staff including filing, completion of reports, and documentation of home visits.
File legal documents and serve legal notices assists in data entry on departmental automation systems of documentation and statistical information.
Assist the Resource Worker with training packages for foster parents reflective of First Nation traditions, values, beliefs, and customs
Participate in case reviews
Work effectively and positively with coworkers, supervisors, management and caregivers to support directions to continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families.
