Description

These individuals will have the responsibility of conducting family assessments as directed by the Ministry of Social Services on families who are interested in providing a home for child/children in care of the Ministry.
COMPLETE POSITION SUMMARY AVAILABLE FROM THE EMPLOYER.
Qualifications:
BSW/BISW with significant experience in a social services/child protection organization
Certificate in Social Work (CSW or CISW) with a minimum of four years direct child protection services experience.
Knowledge and commitment to the FSIN child Welfare and family Support Act; the Child and Family Services Act of Saskatchewan; INAC Child and Family Services Program Directive 20-1 and the INAC Saskatchewan region Child in Care Policy.
Must have a minimum of two years Child and Family Services experience.
Knowledge of child development and the impact of abuse and neglect, disability and other special needs including attachment issues as it relates to child welfare services.
Ability to understand family dynamics, conduct genogram/family clan/tribe research.
Possess excellent culturally appropriate interviewing skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Demonstrated ability for critical management in ambiguous or unfavorable situations.
Current Criminal Record Check, Abuse Registry Check and a valid driver's license.
Must sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
Able to work weekends, some evenings and to travel when required.
