South East Cornerstone Public School Division invites applications for an Indigenous Culture Resource Advisor. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Education or designate, the Indigenous Culture & Resource Advisor will assist South East Cornerstone Public School Division in supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Mtis students self-esteem and knowledge - strengthening their identity and pride in their cultural background; and will support the inclusion of First Nations, Inuit, and Mtis teachings and age-appropriate curriculum on residential schools, Treaties, and Aboriginal peoples historical and contemporary contributions to Canada into core curriculum; develop culturally appropriate early childhood education programs and, leading the implementation of school-community projects and partnerships. The Indigenous Culture & Resource Advisor position reflects the Calls to Action (esp. #12, 62) as identified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
