Job Description: The Mental Health Therapist reports directly to the Mental Health and Addictions Manager. The Mental Health Therapist is an integral member of the primary health care team, in a collaborative, co-location model. As a member of a multidisciplinary primary health care team, the incumbent is primarily responsible for supporting providers in clinics in screening, intervention and accessing appropriate services. The Mental Health Therapist initiates and/or participates in community development initiatives and in the evaluation of Mental Health Therapist initiatives within the site. They promote quality health care outcomes working within established standards of practice to ensure that clients receive a high standard of primary health care.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Psychology
Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Bachelor Degree in Psychology. Other degrees in human services (i.e. nursing) may be considered with extensive experience in counseling.
Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
Experience
Previous experience in teaching, facilitation skills, leading group activities.
Experience in brief treatment modalities in Primary Health Care setting preferred.
Recent experience with a combination of clinical management preferable in relation to primary health care, integrated care or community health care.
Counseling skills, knowledge and experience in dealing with a wide range of problems and issues.

Recruitment, Relocation and Retention Incentives may be available up to $8,500.00 for a return for service commitment, along with a comprehensive benefit package.
