What your Monday to Friday will look like:
As a control systems developer, you will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other professionals to design, develop and commission software and hardware solutions used to perform experiments, acquire data, coordinate motion control, and operate the accelerator. You will contribute to scientific research at the CLS by implementing and maintaining the control systems on which that research depends. You will also have a chance to use your creativity to expand software systems and tools we use in the development process.

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or related area
Four or more years experience in software development in a technical environment
Qualifications Considered an Asset:
Competency with Linux
Knowledge and experience in software development with C/C++ and/or Python
Familiarity with software tools such as integrated development environments, automated builds, source code control and issue tracking
Experience with EPICS or other distributed control framework
Work on device drivers
Background in a research support environment
