Job Description: The Medical lmaging (MI) Manager will provide a healthy workplace and operations in MI departments to ensure consistent delivery of quality care 24/7 - 365 days a year, including diagnostic and interventional for inpatient and outpatient populations. This is accomplished through management, facilitation, coordination and leadership overview of the departments' human, fiscal, capital assets, operational and environmental health factors. The Manager is responsible for sustaining a healthy workplace environment that fosters respect, trust, safety, open communication, innovation, continuous learning and growth. The Manager is responsible for strategic and tactical leadership over the departments' clinical operations areas: General Radiology, Computerized Tomography, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance lmaging, lnterventional Radiology, Radiation Safety, Provincial Breast Screening Program and non invasive cardiology. Contacts include staff at all levels of the organization, physicians, community groups and agencies, educational institutions and the ministry of health.
Committee Work: Medical Imaging Manager Leadership Committee-North, Collaborative Leadership Lab/MI Committee-North, Medical Imaging Dyad Leadership Committee-North, Community Councils
Major Challenges:
Multi-site leadership in an extensive geographical area with complex community relationships.
Provides primary operational leadership and support to MI staff and secondary leadership to Laboratory Medicine staff Controls large capital inventory and anticipates future needs and service demands.
Manages high demand, low capacity specialized modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound) within a finite budget.
Project management of technological advances and equipment installation
