Facility: COMMUNITY HEALTH/MENTAL HEALTH
Job Description: Under the direction of the Mental Health and Addictions Manager and working within an interdisciplinary mental health and addiction team, the Community Mental Health Nurse will provide a range of clinical services to children, youth, adults with mental health and addiction issues and support to their families. The incumbent will also serve as an important link between Intermediate Care Services and the services provided by the Primary Health Care System.
Required Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized school of psychiatric nursing or graduation from a school of general nursing supplemented by postgraduate training in psychiatric nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Experience
Requires a minimum of two years (postgraduate) recent recognized experience in a community mental health setting working with children, youth and families presenting with acute and chronic mental health problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to design, initiate and conduct in service training for other professionals
Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentation and formulate evidence based intervention
Ability to provide public education regarding children and youth and mental health concerns
Ability to work in partnership within the community and possess a broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agenci
