Description

Are you a proactive and creative individual who likes to work with others to find solutions to complex problems?  Are you interested in supporting one of Saskatchewans world-leading industries? Are you a team player that prioritizes relationships and collaboration? The Policy Branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is seeking a highly organized, creative, self-motivated and experienced individual to support work on agri-environmental policy.

As a Senior Policy Analyst in the Environment and Resource Policy Unit, you will provide advice to senior leaders on agri-environmental issues that impact the western Canadian agriculture sector.  You will analyze and develop policy options and strategies, undertake research, and lead and support working groups and task teams.

Key skills will include the ability to:

- research, evaluate, and develop policy options;
- clearly articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing;
build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues in other ministries and governments; and,
- manage projects, committees, and processes to ensure that quality deliverables are completed on time.

Typically, the skills and knowledge for this position will have been gained through an Undergraduate or Masters degree in Environment and Sustainability, Public Policy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field with an policy and agriculture focus.

In line with the core values of the Ministry of Agriculture, the successful candidate must be a team player, able to both lead and collaborate, with a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation in their work.
