The Melville Public Library is seeking a summer student for the position of Program Leader for our Summer Reading/Summer Fun Program.  The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and carrying out the summer program at the library including the TD Summer Reading Club, reading age appropriate books for each program session, incorporating music and imaginative play, using outdoors spaces, keeping daily statistics, tracking supplies, working with and supervising teen volunteers, and doing your best to create a fun and creative program for children to enjoy.
This position works with children aged 0-12.  Leadership and organizational skills are necessary. This position is ideal for a college or university student in an field related to education, children, community development or the arts. Individuals entering post secondary education this fall will also be considered.
