Description

The Office of the City Clerk is accepting applications for a Bylaw Enforcement Officer. This is a permanent full-time position, under the general supervision of the Bylaw Compliance and Licensing Official.  In this position, you will be responsible for conducting bylaw inspections, investigating and processing complaints, enforcing a broad range of municipal bylaws, regulations, and legislation including but not limited to preparing evidence for court and prosecution of offences. Customer relations and conflict management skills form key components of the position requiring the interpretation of bylaws, regulations, legislation, and applicable rules to the public.

Basic Requirements:
    Successful completion of Grade 12;  
    Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License;
    Willingness to become Youth Certified;
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook;
    Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, coordinate and manage multiple duties and tasks;
    Strong organizational skills, prioritization, problem-solving and time management with exceptional attention to detail for enforcement duties;
    Ability to provide verbal and written testimony in court;
    Ability to prepare effective written reports;
    Sound public relations and dispute resolution skills using considerable independent judgement, tact, courtesy, and patience; and
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desirable Requirements:
    Prior Training within enforcement or security, the Saskatchewan Association of Municipal Enforcement Officers (SAMEO) is considered an asset;
    Customer relations and conflict management training is considered an asset; and
    Ability to complete research relating to bylaws, policies or procedures.
