Job Description: THE ASD CONSULTANT WILL RECEIVE AND PROCESS ASD REFERRALS, TRIAGE REFERRALS, COORDINATE AND CONTRIBUTE TO ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS OF ASD, FACILITATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL PROGRAM PLANS AND MONITOR PROGRESS, FACILITATE AND ENHANCE COORDINATION OF SERVICES, CONSULT AND PROBLEM-SOLVE WITH PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS AS WELL AS PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PROVIDERS, SUPERVISE ASD SUPPORT WORKERS AND FACILITATE, COORDINATE AND ENHANCE TREATMENT AND PROGRAMMING FOR ASD CHILDREN AND YOUTH.
Required Qualifications
Eligibility for registration in corresponding professional association
Master's Degree in a recognized human services field (Speech-Language, Pathology, Occupational therapy, Psychology preferred, other human services fields may be considered)
Two years experience working with children with ASD and abnormal/normal childhood development
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Experience
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS WOULD BE AN ASSET BUT IS NOT REQUIRED. ATTENDANCE AT SPONSORED TRAINING/EDUCATION REGARDING ASD IS PART OF THE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES.

Ability to adapt to changing conditions
Ability to communicate clearly through written, electronic (e.g. Telehealth), and verbal medium
Ability to develop clinical pathways, standards of care, and participate in quality assurance activities.
Apply ethical and legal principles and cultural sensitivity in clinical practice
Computer skills are an asset
Initiate, design and conduct in-service training for staff, caregivers and other professionals
