Reporting to the Director of Nuclear, this position works with a high level of independence and as part of a team advising how provincial policy on nuclear energy will spur economic growth, attract investment, expand and create value chains, and build on provincial strengths in industry, research, and trade. This position will: Conduct complex strategic, public policy, financial, risk management, and economic analysis for the CIC Board and Cabinet on nuclear economic growth and business initiatives.
Forecast, calculate, analyze, or synthesize data, and communicate potential implications for provincial public policy, economic growth, or nuclear energy systems planning. Stay well informed of nuclear energy trends, issues, and developments in Saskatchewan, Canada, and internationally. Work closely with Crown corporations, government ministries, the private sector, other governments, and other interested parties to coordinate and facilitate strategic collaboration, stay current with technological, economic and policy pressures and ideas, to provide CIC with timely, concise, independent, and accurate advice. Provide regular reporting to Crown Boards and Cabinet on provincial nuclear oversight and governance, workforce development, supply chain development, investment attraction, and federal-provincial-territorial relations and regulations. Develop a variety of written materials including strategic planning documents, analytical advice, decision and information items, briefing notes, and letters, considering alignment with government priorities and industry and business relationships and objectives. Represent CIC at meetings, conferences, trade and industrial events, gatherings of delegates, and in regular dialogue with Crown corporations, ministries and business interests.
