The receptionist will be responsible for creating a hospitable environment by greeting students, staff, and visitors coming into our school, direct them to the appropriate contacts or services, and provide general information in person and by phone. Providing administrative support as required: typing, photocopying, faxing, sorting/routing mail and composing and preparing letters from general instructions.
Time management skills to be able to prioritize activities, especially when there is high volume of tasks.
Attention to detail to ensure that all school memos and newsletters are free of any errors.
Communication skills to be able to communicate with internal team members or parents/guardians, and community.
Strong organizational skills to keep multiple calendars organized.
Administrative skills to be able to use basic computer programs including Microsoft Office.
Flexibility to be able to move between activities and duties quickly if priorities change.
Schedule appointments, using manual or computerized systems.
Record keeping.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Grade 12 Diploma.
Training in Office Administration/Office Education, related training and experience would be an asset.
Experience in Secretarial/Receptionist duties.
Strong background in computers is essential.
Excellent verbal and written skills
Proven interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to manage various administrative tasks in a fast paced working environment.
