Description

The In-Home Family Support Worker plays a vital role in providing assistance and guidance to families in need within the community. They offer in-home support to families facing various challenges, including but not limited to parenting difficulties, social isolation, financial strain, and mental health issues. Through their compassionate approach and professional expertise, they strive to empower families, enhance their coping skills, and promote overall well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Conduct comprehensive assessments of families' needs and strengths.
-Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with families, setting achievable goals and objectives.
-Provide practical assistance and emotional support to families, including but not limited to parenting skills training, household management, budgeting, and accessing community resources.
-Offer guidance and encouragement to enhance family communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
-Advocate on behalf of families to access relevant services and resources within the community.
-Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all interactions and interventions with families.
-Collaborate effectively with other professionals and agencies involved in the family's care, including social workers, healthcare providers, and educators.
-Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to family support practices.
-Undertake various duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the organization and meet the evolving needs of the community.

Requirements:
-Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
-Certificate or diploma in a Human Services or related field; alternatively, a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
-Previous experience working with diverse families facing various challenges
