Facility: Royal University Hospital
Job Description: The Navigator under the direction of the Manager is accountable for the system navigation and coordination of endoscopy patients coming through the Adult GE/Endoscopy services. The Navigator is an expert resource and support for patients. Along with the Endoscopy Team, the Navigator is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of the patients plan of care, and in doing so must have an expert knowledge base of all aspects of Adult GE/Endoscopy services. The Navigator will work in collaboration with other health care providers including community partners and agencies to promote care based on best practice and will help develop and foster these relationships.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Experience
-5 years recent acute care nursing experience, 3 of which must be in the specific clinical area required.
-Experience related to leadership, patient education, program development and evaluation is a definite asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Be accountable for creating a culture of safety, working as a team, communicating effectively and responding to adverse events.
Be knowledgeable in, and adopts, a trauma informed approach to patient and family care.
Collaborate with the patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team in the development of a plan of care which enhances access and, were possible, supports a shared care approach to service delivery close to home.
